A to Z

11 years ago, my dear friend Heather and I lived in the same state. Then, at the end of the summer of 2000, I moved 7 hours away to go to college in Minnesota. Since then, with the exception of one short summer, we have lived at least 7 hours apart, and for most of that time, the distance has been much greater. But, with the help of the USPS and the internet, we've been able to stay close friends.2 summers ago, Heather suggested we play a postcard game. We take turns sending each other post cards, with each post card representing a letter of the alphabet. We alternated letters, me first sending "A" two years ago, and receiving "Z" from Heather this spring. It's perfect to me that it took us 2 years to complete this game, that's just how we are. And now it's funny to go back and look at how different both of our lives were at the start of the game.

Of course, it wouldn't be Heather unless there was at least 1 postcard involving a president. I also got one from Madison, (Z is for zoo) but I can't seem to find that one at the moment.

Tea Party Table

I saw this a few weeks ago, and decided it looked like a great project to make for Little A. We had a Lack table just sitting in our basement, so I picked up a couple of stools at Ikea, and some fabric to complete the project. While Little A took her nap, I worked on her tea party table. When she woke up, she was excited to have a new place to play!

20 Weeks

Halfway! Not many changes to report at 20 weeks. We had our ultrasound on Monday, and Baby Girl was wiggling around like crazy, and she looks good. E and I are excited to meet her in (about) 20 weeks!

It's a...

We had our 20 week ultrasound today, and...
Little A is going to have a little sister. I'm already nervous for their teen years now, but I'm sure (hopeful) they'll be such good friends (most of the time).

Raspberry Time

It's raspberry time at our house again. When we moved in, we inherited a whole bunch of raspberry bushes, and they have continued expanding every year. We always end up with a freezer full of raspberries at the end of the summer, and it looks like that will be an extra good thing this year because Little A LOVES them. She likes to pick them right off the bushes, so Daddy helped her find a few that were ready last night after dinner. I think she'll be a happy girl with her yummies for the rest of the month!

Update on Baby #2

I can't believe I'm almost half way though this pregnancy. Time has gone by so quickly! I am thankfully feeling much better now that school is done. I still have some days when my stomach is touchy, but they are far fewer. The heat really gets to me though, which is new to me, so I have to be extra careful to keep water with me and take breaks on really warm days.

I am feeling a lot bigger at this point in pregnancy #2 than when I was pregnant with Little A. This feeling was reinforced when a little girl who was talking to Little A and I at the park last week told me I looked like I was going to have another baby. I know it's true, but I don't need other people to point it out to me.

A high point of recent weeks is that I am feeling baby move a lot. Especially when Little A is laying on me. I guess her little brother/sister wants to say hi. And next Monday we have our big ultrasound, so we'll be able to find out baby's gender. Then it's time to start picking out names (we weren't 100% on a name until we were in the hospital with Little A) and get to work on modifying the nursery a little and getting Little A's big girl room ready.

Little A thinks sunglasses are really fun. Especially these butterfly sunglasses she got at Little E's 1st birthday party last weekend. She likes to take them on and off over and over, and laughs every time she puts them on. Or sees someone else put them on. Such a silly girl!
