27 Weeks

It's hard to believe I'm 6 months pregnant, and only have 3 to go to meet the little lady! The summer just flew by!

I have been SO tired this week. My growing belly is making it hard for me to sleep through the night, and this week I headed back to work. That means early mornings for Little A and I, and lots of school craziness (as always seems to come with every new year).

I've had some serious heartburn this week, so I was thankful to find out today that the nurse has a big stash of tums. I've also been battling with some back pain, but that has eased up the past few days, probably because I haven't been carrying Little A around as much.

I went to the doctor last week, and had my glucose test. I was dreading that, but this time I passed with no trouble. I failed the first test with Little A, and the long test made me so sick it took two tries. Thankfully I don't have to worry about the three hour test this time around!

We have gotten a lot done on a big girl room for Little A, and we already have a lot of clothes for the little lady, so we're pretty ready for her arrival. The one thing we don't have is a name. We weren't 100% sure on Little A's name until she was born, but A was a favorite from early on, and I always knew what her middle name would be, so the lack of even a favorite name right now is worrying me a little bit. Suggestions are welcome :)

Grandpa & Granddaughter

I've been meaning to post this for awhile, as in, since January. I finally got the scanner out tonight for an unrelated project, and scanned this in too.

Here is a picture of my Grandpa Dick and I on my 2nd Christmas (or maybe Thanksgiving, I can't remember), when I was almost 15 (or 14) months old.

And my attempt to get a similar picture of Little A with her Grandpa Rich on her 1st Christmas (actually, Christmas in January) when she was about 10 months old, in the same dress (that my Grandma Sue made for me).

Red Balloon

Little A and I went to storytime at The Red Balloon Bookshop today with some friends, and all of the little ones got a red balloon. Little A thought her "ball" was pretty amazing. She ran around with her balloon for at least an hour and a half after we got home.

Stuck

A couple weeks ago, I heard Little A crying in her room after her nap. I went in to get her and found her like this.

Her little leg was stuck between the bars of her crib. I couldn't get her leg out on my own, so I climbed in the crib and we waited for Daddy to get home. Luckily he was already on his way so we didn't have to wait long, and Daddy was able to get her leg out quickly.

DIY Ribbon Pull Toy

Last week, Little A and I got together with the ladies and little ones from the mom and baby group we were part of last spring through our hospital. It was so fun to see how the little ones have grown.

One of the mom's shared a few ideas she got from a family friend for easy, make yourself travel toys. We travel in the car a lot, so I thought I'd try to make a ribbon pull toy for Little A.
Supplies
-Small container with lid (I used a Target little munchers container)
-Variety of ribbons
-Hole punch
-Scrapbook paper
-Contact paper

1. Punch a small hole in the lid of the container (you could also cut slits in the top if you prefer). Thread a piece of ribbon through the hole and tie a knot at each end.

2. Repeat for as many pieces of ribbon as you want to include. I picked all grossgrain ribbons because I thought they would hold up better, but I picked ribbons that were a variety of widths, and cut them to different lengths. 2. Measure the container, and cut scrapbook paper to fit. Wrap the scrapbook paper around the container and tape.

3. Cut contact paper to fit over the scrapbook paper, and wrap around the container.

Now you have an easy, fun toy to play with

23 Weeks

The summer is going by SO quickly! I can't believe it's less than four months until our new baby girl arrives!

I've been feeling really good lately, with the exception of occasional back pain. My back only bothers me if I carry Little A around a lot during the day, so I've been trying to get her to walk when possible. Sleep is starting to get more uncomfortable, but nothing too bad yet.

This week we started making some progress on Little A's big girl room. We had been looking at bunk beds, but didn't find anything we liked, so instead we (well, mostly E) are making a bed for Little A instead. We got the frame made and painted last weekend, so I'm feeling better about our progress. Now to get the room painted.
